Troubleshooting Projects in the Console

This article describes how to open and access the console within the Squirrel desktop and browser tools. This may be required upon request when raising a support ticket.

If you have raised a ticket with support, there may be times when more information is required than a description of the crash. For the team to get full insights into the issue and get as much information as possible, we may request some information that is not immediately accessible following an error message or crash.

Within the dev tools or console, you can find more information to share in your Squirrel Support ticket to help us get to a solution as quickly as possible. Depending on what version of the tool you are running at the time, depends on how you access this console.

Desktop Client

If you are working with the downloaded desktop client, you can access the console with the following commands - they vary depending on your current OS

Windows

Ctrl + Shift + I

MacOS

⌥ Control + ⌘ Command + I

Designer in the Browser

If you are working in the Designer in the Browser version of Squirrel there are a few ways to access the browser console.

  1. Either of the same commands above

  2. Right-click and 'Inspect'

  3. Press F12 on the keyboard

Once opened, the console will look like this in the window. Reference the support ticket for the requested information.
